Barbara Daush, born on July 11, 1953, has had a remarkable career contributing significantly to the educational and athletic landscape in Memphis, leading to her prestigious induction into the TSSAA Hall of Fame in 2020. Her journey in education and administration spans over four decades, marked by dedication and leadership that has left an indelible mark on the institutions she served and the broader educational community in Tennessee.

Daush's professional journey commenced at the Lausanne Collegiate School, where she taught for three years from 1975 to 1978, laying the foundation for her lifelong commitment to education. Following her tenure at Lausanne, she became an integral part of the Grace-St. Luke’s Episcopal School community, serving as both an administrator and teacher for 12 years. Her leadership journey continued as she took on the role of Head of Lower School at Hutchison School in Memphis from 1990 to 1994, further cementing her reputation as a leading figure in the educational sector.

The pinnacle of her administrative career was her 22-year tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer at St. Agnes Academy. Under her guidance, St. Agnes Academy thrived, benefiting from her visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to excellence in education. Beyond her institutional roles, Daush actively contributed to the broader educational community. She was elected Chair of the Board of the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) and served as both a member of the Board of Directors and President of the Tennessee Association of Independent Schools.

Daush's contributions to TSSAA were equally significant. She served on the TSSAA Division II Committee and acted as a liaison on the TSSAA Legislative Council and Board of Control. These roles underscored her commitment to fostering athletic excellence and integrity within the TSSAA framework. In recognition of her service, she received a TSSAA Distinguished Service Award as an administrator, a testament to her positive impact on student athletics and education in Tennessee.

Though she retired in 2016, Barbara Daush's legacy continues through her consulting work for independent schools' search committees. Her induction into the TSSAA Hall of Fame in 2020 is not only a celebration of her contributions to Tennessee’s educational and athletic communities but also a recognition of a career dedicated to fostering growth, excellence, and leadership in young individuals.
