  • Longtime head football coach at Red Bank High School in Chattanooga, TN
  • Served as an assistant coach at five different schools before landing at Red Bank in 1973
  • In 29 years as head coach at Red Bank he won 222 games and lost 85
  • Won the TSSAA State Championship in Class 5A in 2000 with a 15-0 record
  • His 1978 team finished as TSSAA State Runner-up
  • Left Red Bank in 2002 and went to Georgia for two years and then returned to TN at Soddy Daisy High School
  • Coached at Soddy Daisy from 2004 until 2007
  • Retired in 2007
  • Member of Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame, Chattanooga Old Timers Hall of Fame, UT Chattanooga Athletics Hall of Fame, and Tennessee Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame
  • The field at Red Bank High School is named in his honor
