Jody Wright's induction into the TSSAA Hall of Fame in 2024 marks a crowning moment in a distinguished career spanning over nearly four decades as the head basketball coach at Fulton High School in Knoxville. His tenure at Fulton is nothing short of legendary, guiding the Falcons through 38 years that featured remarkable achievements, including 29 seasons with at least 20 wins, 14 regional championships, and 13 district championships. His leadership has seen the team through 21 TSSAA State Tournament appearances, culminating in five state championships in 2008, 2009, 2016, 2023 and 2024.

Wright's teams were state runner-up on five occasions, reflecting the consistent high performance and competitiveness they brought to the court under his stewardship. His excellence in coaching was recognized through numerous accolades such as being named District Coach of the Year 20 times, KIL Coach of the Year 10 times, East Tennessee Coach of the Year two times, and State Coach of the Year in both 2008 and 2023. Beyond these achievements, Wright's teams have amassed over 800 wins, an incredible milestone that speaks volumes about his dedication, strategy, and leadership.

Aside from his remarkable coaching career, Wright's contributions to TSSAA and his school were further highlighted by his dual role as an assistant principal and athletic director at Fulton High School. His commitment to athletics and education in Tennessee was celebrated in 2011 when Fulton High School named their gymnasium "Jody Wright Arena" in his honor. Wright's inclusion into prestigious halls of fame such as the Anderson County Hall of Fame, LMU Athletes Hall of Fame, and Fulton Wall of Fame, precede this well-deserved recognition by the TSSAA, sealing his legacy as one of Tennessee's finest in high school sports history.
